LET US MAKE THIS DAY GREEN FRIDAY INSTEAD OF BLACK FRIDAY!

Black Friday has become the busiest shopping weekend of the year thanks to heavy discounts and targeted marketing campaigns. This may sound like heaven, but it is not a happy ending for all of us. Since fast-fashion brands create non environment friendly products and use child labour to make production as fast as possible, someone's day of happiness becomes others' nightmare. It also becomes toxic for shop addicts in long term too since this day makes them buy all the things regardless of whether they need or not.

So we present you THE GREEN FRIDAY! Here is what it is...

Green Friday is a movement against the catastrophic idea of Black Friday that makes everyone stuck inside their houses looking at "their black mirrors" for hours. Instead, Green Friday supporters makes you want to enjoy nature by going outside and taking a deep breathe instead of destroying it through promoting fast fashion brands such as Zara, Mango or any online shopping website like NastyGal and PLT. They also want you to respect human rights and be against modern slavery by boycotting shopping on Black Friday excessively.

So does that mean shopping in general will make you a terrible person? Absolutely not. As long as you do not shop unnecessarily and try to promote sustainable fashion more by buying long lasting high quality clothes. In fact, not all fashion brands use this day of the year as a profit. Here are some fashion brands that have already decided to celebrate this day as "GREEN FRIDAY"

Everlane(@everlane)
Always known as one of the biggest sustainable fashion/anti-Black Friday brands,Everlane will donate $10 to Oceana for every order placed on Black Friday to support sustainability!

Her(@weareherbrand)
Focused on creating "the perfect t-shirt", the brand's ideology is about uniting people in a world where people know that women need to be valued as much as others regardless of the appearance, race or status. Plus, who wouldn't like to have a simple white t-shirt that can be worn for years?!

Beau Nuage(@beaunuage)
An umbrella company founded by two King's graduates owes its creation to plastic and unsustainable umbrellas that are sold in London. The main aim of the brand is to have sustainable and high quality umbrellas that are created through recycling. They are also aware of the importance of water in the world and, thesfore, they donate a percentage of each sold umbrella to Solidarité International which has been fighting for everyone to get access to drinking water for more than 35 years!

Don't know what else to do with all the spare time you get by not spending hours on Misguided website? Relax! Just go out, enjoy the nature outside. If you still want to spend money, do it by getting coffee for your best friend and yourself in your favorite coffee shop. Try to wear something you haven't worn for a long time to prove yourself that you don't need extra. Or do nothing! Just let yourself decide what to do except online shopping( digital detox day might help). But most importantly, for human rights and our planet's future....
