AW19 Trend Report

My A/W 2019 Top Trends

Following runway season, here are my favourite trend picks which are fashion forward yet wearable.

1. Clashing Checks

Ashley Williams
Marta Jakubowski

The print of choice for autumn/winter has been given an eclectic twist with different cheque styles or colours being worn together creating bold pattern clashes.

The High Street edit

Here are some of my favourite affordable choices to shop this look.

For Him:

Zara  £49.99

Zara, £29.99

Style with chunky trainers, a tee with the shirt unbuttoned to keep the look casual,  or layer with a polo neck and low top Doc Martens for a more formal look.

ASOS DESIGN £33

ASOS DESIGN £16

For a bolder look, pair this double breasted grey check blazer with tapered trousers with a colour pop check. Wear with chunky trainers and a blue crew neck jumper for extra cool.

2. Beige Rage

Burberry

Fendi

An influx of beige hues have circulated the catwalks. My favourite way to inject some beige into my outfits is through outwear. Whether it be the sweeping duster style coats that are in right now, to the more urban puffer jacket look, this tonal trend can be incorporated in whichever style suits you best.

The High Street Edit

For Her:

As we all know coats can be extremely expensive. So after much scouring of the internet here are my top coat finds that aren't (too) painful on the purse.

Topshop £69.99

The above coat is a steal at under £70 and Topshop also offers 10% student discount online through Unidays. This double breasted coat is a staple, which will make layering up elegant with ease. This coat is a timeless piece that will be stylish no matter what the current trend is.

Pull&Bear £45.99

Another way to incorporate this tonal trend into your wardrobe is with this unique twist on the trench coat. With an oversized slouchy fit this coat is perfect for light layering, whilst being practical for this rainy autumn period.

For Him:

ASOS DESIGN £38

This oversized longline duster jacket features a lighter beige hue, perfect with blue jeans and a cream sweater for an understated look. Pair with your favourite white trainers of choice.

Weekday £80

A take on the trench coat but with a straighter fit. Still midi in length, but allows for greater layering due to the thin cotton twill fabric. Layer with a stone waffle knit jumper and white collar shirt underneath, with jaded grey jeans for a clean yet warm look.

3.  Powerpuff Sleeves

Alexander McQueen
Isabel Marant

The trend that permeated summer wardrobes, with puffy shoulders being worn commonly in milkmaid style has now been revamped for this autumn winter period. They have been transformed and included in sharp tailoring giving an edge to classic formal wear.

The High Street Edit

For her

River Island £42

A more subdued and wearable version of the puffy sleeves seen on the
catwalks. This  faux leather top looks best with washed out blue
jeans and your favourite black stilettos for an effortlessly chic
look. Decadent silver earrings would compliment this well.

Nastygal £24

For a more dramatic version of the puff sleeve shop this look. This puff sleeve bodysuit is sure to wow. To dress up pair with a mini faux leather skirt and stilettos. For a more casual look wear with jaded black jeans and chunky boots.

I hope my top picks gave you a little boost of inspiration for your autumn/winter wardrobe. Let me know if you purchase any of my high street finds and keep an eye out for more trend reports coming soon!
